Al-Burhan and Afwerki affirm their determination to raise and push relations to broader horizons

Head of the Sovereignty Council, 1st. Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, held today, at the Presidential Palace In the Eritrean capital, Asmara, a session of talks dealt with the path of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The discussions reviewed ways to strengthen, support and develop relations between the two countries, and to consolidate areas of joint cooperation to serve their interests.
Al-Burhan briefed the Eritrean President on all the developments in the situation in Sudan and the efforts made to resolve the Sudanese crisis.
His Excellency provided an enlightenment to President Afwerki about the violations and crimes committed by the rebel terrorist militia against the citizens and the systematic destruction of the Sudanese state and its institutions.
Al-Burhan expressed his great appreciation for the level of Sudanese-Eritrean relations in various fields, pointing to the strong brotherly relations between the two peoples, praising Eritrea’s supportive stances for Sudan to maintain its unity and achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people towards security and stability.
“We thank the government and people of Eritrea for its noble and historical stance and for hosting the Sudanese people in their plight and aid, and this is not surprising for the Eritrean government and its honorable people.” Al-Burhan added.
For his part, the Eritrean President thanked the Head of the Sovereignty Council for this visit, reiterating his country’s firm stance to stand by the Sudanese people to achieve security and stability.
“We will work to strengthen the prospects for joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples,” he said.
