Interior Minister addresses Customs Forces Forum

Interior Minister, Major General (Police) Rtd., Khalil Pasha Sayrin, addressed the forum organized to address customs issues at the Red Sea State Police Hall, which came under the slogan “Ministry of Interior – Building and Dignity Battle.” considering that customs police constitutes a major supporter of the state’s economy, through the implementation of the state’s policies and its various financial, banking and commercial interfaces, through its spread and control at all the country’s land, sea airports, and crossings, The Minister affirmed that Sudanese customs are subject to international standards, in terms of measuring the degree of modernity, development and fulfilling the customs service conditions, which are to simplify the customs tariff and the transparency of the structures of legislation, with the consistency and ease of customs procedures, with the tightness of oversight operations.
For his part, Director General of Customs Forces said that they are working to restore all e-systems related to customs work and the electronic inbox system that is linked to a network system with the Bank of Sudan and the Traffic Department, indicating that these measures came to strengthen partnerships with all state institutions, adding that the customs had coordinating relations with all national and foreign community organizations working in the field of voluntary and humanitarian, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, affirming keenness to continue conducting support and backing convoys of the Sudanese Armed Forces in their battle against the Rapid Support Militia.
The director general of the customs forces revealed the recent thwarting of smuggling attempts, which were the seizure of gold (35) kilos, weighing (439) kilograms of the drug ice crystal, weighing (60) of cocaine and (4). A kilogram of heroin and (15) kilograms of Margona, in addition to the seizure of (34) vehicles of different type and (262) heads of sheep, in addition to various seizures of weapons, ammunition, food and fuel.
