President of the Republic of Mozambique receives the Deputy Head of the TSC

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, received yesterday morning in the capital, Maputo, the Deputy Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Ayre and his accompanying delegation.

The Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council conveyed the greetings of the Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, to the President of the Republic of Mozambique, expressing his hope to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting discussed developments in the situation in Sudan and the current crisis and its impact on the regional and international environment.

Agar provided an update on the situation in Sudan and the repercussions of the current war.
He stressed Sudan’s keenness to establish peace and stop the suffering of the Sudanese people, whose capabilities were destroyed by the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Militia.

His Excellency presented a detailed report on the position of international and regional platforms on the Sudanese crisis, especially in the UN Security Council, the African Union and IGAD,
expressing the Sudanese government’s aspiration for Mozambique to continue supporting Sudan’s position in international forums.

For his part, the President of the Republic of Mozambique stressed his country’s keenness to establish peace in Sudan and its support for the Sudanese government’s efforts in dialogue for peace.

For his part, the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, said that the Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council stressed during the meeting the Sudanese government’s keenness on the outcomes of the Jeddah Forum as the starting point for any new step, especially the current American dialogue, noting that President Felipe stressed the necessity for the dialogue to be Sudanese-Sudanese and to close the door to any external interference.
