In an exclusive interview with The National, former Prime Miniter of Sudan, Dr.
Abdalla Hamdok, dismissed reports about the UAE having a nefarious role in Sudan, amid allegations of its support for the RSF. Responding to a question about the UAE’s role, he said “the UAE has always been supportive of Sudan, and there is a lot of links and ties in the
history”.
Mr Hamdok spoke at length of how the Sudanese community has grown in the UAE and sees the country as a “force for good in Sudan”.
By the above testimony, Hamok proved to be more Catholic than the Pope, because even the UAE officials avoided to promote the issue fearing the international community’s focus on this sensitive issue.
Internally, Hamadok statement was critized by almost all political and civil society organizations.
The issue of the UAE involvement in Sudan’s war is widely spread after
The Wall Street Journal published the issue of the UAE involvement in the war, then all the international media outlets wrote about it a matter which led to tabling it before the Congress, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch verification.
The question that posses itself is does Hamdok wants – by such statement – to direct the international public opinion or the Congress or Human Rights Watch Or Amnesty International?
What does Hamdok think himself?
By his ridiculous statement Hamdok disappointed the international players who were thinking that the man is a statesman.
Internally, Hamok lost that minor support of the Sudanese people.
It is apparent that Hamdok is only fearing the the UAE withdraw the Emergency Visa from him, so he preferred to be His Master’s Voice!
