Joint Statement Warns against Using Chemically Modified Wheat Seeds as Food

The Ministries of Health, Interior, Agriculture and Forests, SSMO, and High Council of Environment, and after conducting an investigation over the announcement of Harvest Company in which it affirmed that one of its warehouses in Haj Yusif which contain chemically modified wheat seeds was looted and might be sold in the market a matter which is dangerous for humanbeings and animals as well.
Accordingly the above mentioned institutions warn against the following:
* Using this chemically modified wheat which color is different from the ordinary wheat (redish brown) for human or animal consumption and avoiding it totally as it is used only for plantation.
* Purchasing or eating it or trying to wash it or grinding or mixing it to be used as food for human beings or animals.
* Eating or touching or smelling those seeds will lead to chemical poisoning a matter that might cause kidney failure, cancer and other diseases leading to death.
* concerned parties shout expedite the required medication protocols, and health messages to raise the alert of monitoring the patients.
* In case of wrong using those seeds the patient should go to the nearest healthcare unit to be treated.
* Security Institutions should monitor all the crossing points to prevent the transportation of those seeds to other states.
* All the companies working in this field and have similar storage should take care and immediately report in case of looting it.
* We are confident that the citizens are now aware about not using those seeds, besides immidiate reporting about any information to the concerned authorities.
