It was reported that unexpectedly the 1st Infantry Division of Sudan Armed Forces SAF in Algazera state had withdrawn and put between six to seven(6-7) million civilians at risk and mercy of Rapid Support Forces RSFmilitia who are basically Janjaweed.
The Wad Madani population was turned into a save refuge following the occupation of their homes, confiscation of their properties and threatening of their lives in Khartoum, Sudan. The
regional and the international organizations had reported that the situation in Wad Madani is deteriorating since the RSF Militia took over control last week. It is reported that both sides arrested or detained dozen of people on the basis of ethnicity and tribal affiliation.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki, expressed his growing concern about the deteriorating security situation in Sudan( particularly on reports of renewed attacks on the Abu Shouk camp of displaced people in El Fasher capital of Darfur region, as well as the extension of fighting to Wad Madani in Gezira State. Commissioner Faki indicated, through a statement issued by the AUC on last Monday, that the renewed fighting there re-opens the painful wounds of many Darfur residents who have lived for the past twenty years in Abu Shouk displaced camp as a place of refuge)
The Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has expressed grave concerns about the reports of widespread violations in Gezira. Turk said in press statement, of the humanitarian situation unfolding in the entire Gezira.
The UN official stated that reports indicted that “ an act of mutilation and looting in addition to an attack on a hospital” he continued, “ The United Nations Children*s Fund( UNHCR) has renewed its call for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan, respect of human rights including children rights to protection, access to humanitarian assistance.
The internstionsl organization pointed out in a statement on Thursday that the escalation in fighting in Sudan’s Gezira state has reportedly forced at least 150,000 children from their homes in less than a week)
The International Red Cross has reported that,
Hundreds of thousands of people have fled Wad Madani the capital of Gazeira state, since fighting broke out last Friday. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is urgently calling upon the parties to the conflict to ensure protection of all civilians and provide safe passage for people trying to reach safety.
The International Committee of the Red Cross said«We fear that Wad Madani, once considered a safe haven for people fleeing extreme violence in Khartoum, is turning into a death trap,» said Pierre Dorbes, the head of the ICRC delegation in Sudan. «We saw desperate people running away in
panic to the sound of explosions amid traffic jams and chaos. Each time this happens, family members get separated, and vulnerable people, like the elderly and people with disabilities, are left behind.
The local sources reported that the RSF Militia burned down the Sudan Bank in Wad Madani and many other government institutions and commercial areas and shops under looting since the taking over by SRF Militia.
The WORLD should not allow the RSF Militia to commit another “genocide” in Wad Madani.
