When the British empire invaded & colonise Sudan ,London knows very well ,its a country and a nation with so much to say about Sudan culture& a history . The future wouldn’t be as well as a whole bunch with a bright one if British were not there.
Here is our story today it referred the way Beja were making a living in Northern Eastern Of Sudan .It’s a First Nation many historian to say in their memorial century books.
Today as a young journalist I have travelled around many countries including Washington DC ,to learn so much about my country Sudan and a history deeply legend when it comes in-terms Of eastern side Of Sudan
Not in Sudan pre-history but in modern Sudan ,it’s deeply sad when Osman Digna fought for Sudan rights & gain independence for self governing,it’s the British whom considered Osman Digna demonised as a savage and respected as a warrior. Winston Churchill described him as an “astute” and “prudent” man, calling him “the celebrated, and perhaps immortal, Osman Digna.
Digna didn’t see a fruitful meaning Of his efforts as freedom fighter for us we the Beja .Since nationals governments have taking power in Sudan politicians were the worst offenders the reason why the result we have recently gathered and resorted & left thousands killed & 5.6 million displaced this is the worst history to be written in Sudan
Osman Diggna became a notorious figure in London Britain.The only one in Suakin east Sudan continued the resistance against the British troops.
When I left Sudan in 2018 it was the economy shrinking & creating an unhealthy surplus of goods ,& inflation was in rise. Unemployment swallows up half of Sudanese and scatters their dreams. This is a country divided politically with a legacy Of so many controversial parties.
Since the 2011 of South Sudan gain independence.Sudan become at a crossroads.
Its ten years since economy in Sudan has lost its value .Khartoum no more getting benefits from oil revenues.
The right is Beja Of eastern Sudan have sadistic & suffered a lot in a country they believe it’s their rights and belongs.
So what’s happening there?
What’s happening in today Khartoum politics .millions struggling through an economic crisis that has deepened as Sudan tries to emerge from decades of isolation and conflict. Inflation has risen to more than 340% and there are shortages of everything from power to medicines.Let alone ongoing conflicts between Sudan Bational Army & Rapid Support Forces (RSF)
It’s not a famine or starvation in a country full Of resources,like gold ,oil .what’s happening in Sudan ? Is it the revaluation which toppled Albasher 30 years Of ruling or it’s the medicine Of Democracy killing the people Of Sudan.
