Police Authorities in Atbara and Ed-Dammer Continue Joint Preventive Campaign

For the second day consecutively the police Authorities in Atbara and Ed-Dammer localities continue the joint preventive campaigns in coordination with SAF and GIS in River Nile State.
The campaign targeted several places in Atbara e.g. Wehda district, blocks 6, 8, 9, 10, 11.
The campaign resulted to:
– Removing 35 straw sheds used for selling liquor.
– siezing 200 bottles of liquor besides 13 sacks of dates prepared for for making liquor.
– Arresting 8 drunken and 3 liquor makers.
– Siezure of 2TV sets, 1PC, electric oven, motor bike, 3 amplifiers.
The legal procedures were taken under articles 78/79 of Criminal Act and article 100 of Criminal Procedures Act.
It is worth noting that the citizens of the targeted areas expressed appreciation to the police efforts as they were suffering from the criminal practices.
The campaign will be followed by other preventive campaigns to curb all negative aspects and criminal practices.
