Al-Burhan Briefed on Outcomes of Sudan and South Sudan Talks

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan briefed on the outcomes of the joint meetings between the governments of Sudan and South Sudan on the Abyei area.
This came when he met in his office today the delegation of the Government of South Sudan participating in meetings of the Abyei area in Khartoum, headed by South Sudan’s advisor on security matter and Chairman of the final status Committee of the Abyei Area ,Tut Gatluak Manime.
The South Sudan’s Minister of East African Community Affairs and the deputy chairperson of the Abyei area committee, Deng Alor Kuol, said in a press statement that the joint meetings focused on development and services issues in the Abyei area as well as the final resolution of the matter, noting that the two sides agreed on the necessity to give development and services in the region top priority.
He described that the meetings as serious and useful and dominated by a spirit of cooperation, transparency and taking into consideration the interests of the two countries, pointing to the strong neighborly relations between the two countries.
Deng Alor, said that the two sides agreed that the next meeting would be held in Juba, stating that the date would be determined in consultation with the government of Sudan.
