Ambassador Suleiman Abdul Tawab Presents Sudan’s Vision on Arab Food Security

Within the workshop organized recently by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the African Center for Governance, Peace and Transition Studies (AcoGaps) which took place in Coral Hotel, the Director General of Arab League Department at the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Suleiman Abdul Tawab, has presented a paper titled (Sudan’s Vision in the Implementation of Arab Food Security Strategy).
The Ambassador said that it is ten years since the Arab Strategy of Food Security was discussed in the Arab League in 2013, affirming that it is high time now to expedite the implementation of that strategy considering the global developments including the was in Ukraine war which resulted to a huge gap in wheat supply.
He added that it is now necessary to look for new sources to bridge the gap and achieve the Arab Food Security.
The worksheet of recalled the resolutions of the recent Arab League Summit which took place in Algeria which adapted Sudan’s vision to provide all the agricultural requirements including arable lands and water resources, pointing to the importance of Arab integration in public and private sectors to transform the vision into reality.
Ambassador Abul Tawab presented several recommendations which lead to achieving to strategic goals on top of which is the flow of Arab capitals to Sudan and providing the necessary guarantees and facilities within political stability.
The Ambassador lauded the role of the Arab Organization for Agricultural development under the chairmanship of Prof. Ibrahim Al-Dokhairi in setting the Arab Strategy, urging the concerned institutions to coordinate to determine the implementation paths according to priorities.
