Launch of the 58th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health

The meeting of the 58th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health kicked off on Tuesday in Algeria, while the delegation of Sudan was headed by the Acting  Federal Minister of Health , Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim, and membership of the Director of the General Administration of Pharmacy. Najm El-Din Majzoub, and the Medical Counselor at the Embassy of Sudan in Cairo, Dr. Al-Rasheed Hamza.

The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and the membership of the Ministers of Health in Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Djibouti and Somalia, discussed a number of proposals submitted by Cairo to establish the Arab Agency for Medicine, as well as Algeria’s proposals to establish the Arab Center for Cooperation and Research on HIV, and the establishment of the Arab Agency for Health Development.

The meeting also discussed a number of important health topics on  (Covid-19), and the findings of the technical committees , beside,  the establishment of the Arab Center for Health and Laboratory Research, the Arab Doctor Award for 2023, the Arab Authority for Blood Transfusion Services, the Arab Guiding Law to Support the Rights of the Elderly, and the Arab Strategy for Health and the Environment.

The session pointed out to  activating the meetings of the Arab Higher Authority for Drugs and Food, and reviewing the efforts of the institutions affiliated to the Council of Arab Ministers of Health.
