Indian Embassy in Khartoum Proposes Celebrating International Year of Millets in Sudan

The Ambassador of India to Sudan, Mr. M.S. Mubarak has held a meeting with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Mr. Adam Vinaman Tao on celebrating the International Year of Millets in Sudan.
India’s proposal to observe an International Year of Millets in 2023 was endorsed by FAO sothe United Nations General Assembly declared the year 3023 as the International Year of Millets (IYoM).
The main objectives of the IYoM are to spread awareness on the contribution of Millets in food security and nutrition, inspire stakeholders to improve sustainable production and quality millets, and focusing on enhanced investment in research, development and guidance.
The Embassy of India in Khartoum in partnership with FAO proposed celebrating the International Year of Millet in Sudan through various events in the upcoming few months.
