JEM official reveals facts on the current political process

The secretary of peace and negotiations of Justice and Equality (JEM), Ahmed Mohammad Togud Lisan called on the Sudanese political powers to agree on a political agreement that leads to the formation a civil transitional government and put an end of the Sudanese political crisis.

This came in an interview with Togud when a team from the Citizen visited him at his office in Khartoum. He said that government should have a specific mission which encompasses achieving security, peace and reviving the economy.

The interview was conducted to discuss some of the serious current political issues in Sudan, including the implementation of Juba Peace Agreement (JPA), the unification of one national army, and his vision to come up with a comprehensive national agreement that could be shared with all parties.

The meeting also discussed some of the outcomes of the recent Cairo Declaration, and some explanations to why it was held, who was involved, and it’s positive reflection to the other national political declarations and Agreements made in Sudan.
