IFAD Budget Plan for year 2023 in Gezira state approved

The Steering Committee of the Sustainable Natural Resources and Livelihoods Program of IFAD in the Gezira state reviewed today in a meeting presided over by Acting Minister of Production and Economic Resources Eng. Abdel-Muniem Hassan, the IFAD program activities that were implemented during the last period and simplify the procedures for registering and legalizing community pastures and forests in the targeted areas within the program plan.The acting Minister praised the opportunities provided by the program for rural youth and women by supporting productive projects, training in means of livelihood, creates a suitable environment for investing in local resources of rural communities. Eng. Abdel-Muniem stressed the need for cooperation between the state government and the IFAD in order to achieve its goals in sustainable development and stability of rural communities.

IFAD Program officer Sadiq Mohamed Othman, reviewed the annual report, achievements and budget of the program for the current year in addition to the challenges and the role of the Steering Committee in addressing them, calling for the need for cooperation between all relevant institutions and providing the necessary political support for the implementation of the program plan. Meanwhile, the meeting approved the program budget for the year 2023.
