US Ambassador meets government of Blue Nile

A joint meeting held, Today in Damazin between the government of the Blue Nile region in Damazin, and the US Ambassador to Sudan, John Godfrey.

The Acting Governor, Eng. Abdullah Issa Zayed, said in press statements that the meeting dealt with all issues related to peaceful coexistence following the recent incidents and the arrangements made by the regional government.

He added that the meeting reviewed the gains of the Juba Peace Agreement for Sudan, reviewing the most important challenges facing the region,top of which are the issues of the displaced, humanitarian issues, the return of refugees and displaced persons to their areas, as well as issues related to activating resources.

He underlined that the program of the US ambassador’s visit to the region includes meetings aimed at inspecting b the work of the organizations as well as meeting with some local components in order to achieve more stability of the situation in the region.

The US ambassador arrived at Damazin airport this morning, where he was received by Engineer Abdullah Issa Zayed, the Acting governor of the Blue Nile region, accompanied by a number of members of the regional government,
