TSC Vice-President and President of Guinea-Bissau Hold Bilateral Talks
The President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, received yesterday at the presidential palace in the capital, Bissau, the Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
The President of Guinea Bissau held bilateral talks with the TSC Vice-President, on prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop the bilateral relations in all fields, in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of the two countries along with regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The TSC Vice-President expressed his thanks and appreciation to Guinea Bissau’s President for the warm reception, stressing that the visit comes within the strategy of the Sudanese government, which is based on the importance of openness to the African continent more during the upcoming period, in addition to the importance of cooperation between Sudan and Guinea Bissau as the two countries enjoy great potentials in the various fields.
Daglo pointed out to the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the various fields and benefiting from expertise and experience in transport, livestock and fisheries domains in addition to the economic and trade fields, by benefiting from Guinea Bissau’s presidency of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The TSC Vice-President gave a briefing to Guinea Bissau’s President on developments of the current political situation in Sudan and the efforts exerted to achieve stability, through the political framework agreement that was signed last December.
For his part, the Guinea Bissau’s President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council for visiting his country, noting that Sudan enjoys a prominent position among the countries of the continent and that his country is looking forward to building strategic relations with Sudan that will benefit the peoples of the two countries and the peoples of the region.
He reaffirmed his country’s readiness to open horizons of cooperation in various fields, especially economic and trade and to harness its relations within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to build strategic partnerships that strengthen the relations of the two countries.
