VP of the TSC receives the Chairman of AU Commission
Vice President of the Transition Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, received in his office in the Republican Palace today the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Musa Faki, in the presence of the Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Security and Peace, Mr. Mohamed Ould Labat, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Daffallah Hajj Ali, and discussed the political developments in the country, in light of the framework agreement that was signed last December.
The TSC Vice-President welcomed the AU delegation visit to Sudan, praising the AU Commission to address the Sudanese political crisis, through its contribution to the tripartite mechanism, as well as its endeavors through its various mechanisms to bring the views of the Sudanese parties closer.
He gave a detailed review of all current political developments, affirming commitment to what was agreed upon, the return of civil rule, in order to complete the transitional period, leading to the elections stage, expressing the Sudan’s aspiration for more support for the framework agreement in order to achieve stability in the country.
the Chairperson of the AU Commission, on his part, stated that the visit to Sudan comes within the framework of providing support, and encouraging the parties to move forward towards achieving stability, through the return of civil rule and the achievement of a democratic transition, expressing confidence in the ability of the Sudanese to overcome the difficulties they face in order to reach a final agreement that fulfills the aspirations of the people, stressing readiness of the AU Commission to provide full support for the framework agreement in order to achieve the stability of Sudan and its return to the African Union.
