Orbits: SSMO Activities Deserve Appreciation

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) is considered one of the pioneering public institutions in protecting the citizens from the expired commodities. It succeeded in providing its awareness through media campaigns and specialized publications contributed by all its divisions.

We believe that the Sudanese consumer is still in dire need to be aware on his right towards the validity period of the products and its conformity with the standards.

We, in the Citizen Electronic Newspaper and within our endeavors to contribute in awareness as part of our mission recognized that it is high time to cover all the activities of the SSMO besides publishing its awareness messages and news for the benefit of our readers.

It is true that the SSMO is doing well in its mission towards the consumers, but it is definite that without media the Organization will not be able to conduct its mission in a professional manner.

The SSMO is considered the national reference authorized to issue the standard specifications besides evaluating the products and the standardization; hence it has a direct effect in the society.

Obviously the SSMO activities should be promoted through media awareness campaigns, especially in utilizing the social media outlets for this purpose.

What the SSMO is doing in the laboratories, markets, crossing check points, and markets is bigger than what is reflected in the media.

In conclusion our paper will take the lead in promoting and reflecting the activities of the SSMO, and we welcome any written contributions from the Organization’s administration and our esteemed readers to raise awareness among the consumers.
