Envoys: Political Framework Agreement is basis for civilian-led government

The International Envoys of the US,UK, the European Union, France, Norway and Germany said Today, Thursday, they met Jibril Ibrahim, Mini Minawiand Mutaz Alfahal and discussedissues relating to the current political situation in the country and how to meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Speaking on behalf of the Envoys Jon Anton Johanson, Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan underlined in press statement that the Envoys confirmed that they strongly discouraged parallel processes.

He underscored that in their view , the Framework political Agreement( signed5th October) is basuis on which to establish a new civilian governmentto lead Sudan througha transitional periodto free and fair elections,while also underliningthe importance of a broad participation.

The Envoys encouraged their interlocutors to join the political process.
