Vulnerable Sudanese young dreamers:

By: Ali noor
No doubt that a number of factors are behind the reason of why young Sudanese youth do feel desperate and hopeless of a future that realize their their dreams of decent satisfactory life. Unemployment and the dire economic situation are among elements that contribute to young people trying to leave the country in search for a better life.
In their attempt to achieve that some fall prey to human trafficking gangs who usually demand huge amounts of money to facilitate their departure mostly through hazardous paths. A few manage to reach their destination but unfortunately many lose their lives trying.
Traditionally, Sudanese are well represented among mixed migration populations. Many Sudanese can be found across the region, notably in North Africa like Libya and Egypt. Some refugees and migrants are increasingly arriving in Europe using the Mediterranean as migration route. This path had seen terrible disasters with news of many dying at sea regularly seen on television news channels. On the one hand, increasing economic hardships and insecurity within parts of the country may further intensify movements out of the country, at the same time, economic hardships may also make migration more difficult for many young people who lack the resources needed to finance their journey.
As in many humanitarian crisis, those who would want or need to migrate but are unable to do so are among the most vulnerable.
