Launching of the (45) Forum of the Directors of the NHIF Branches in Khartoum

The (45 )forum of the directors of the National Health Insurance Fund branches started on Monday , January 23-24, under the patronage and honor of the Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ahmed Adam Bakhit, and in the presence of the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Bashir Muhammad Al-Mahi, the former Director of Health Insurance, Dr. Suleiman Abdul Rahman (Marhab), and a number of officials of the institutions.

The Director of the General Department of Planning and Policies, Farouk Nour Al-Daim, reviewed the annual performance report for the year 2022, explaining that last year’s plan was based on several axes, most notably governance, population coverage and external relations, noting that it aimed to strengthen partnership mechanisms and complete and audit population coverage data, pointing out that health insurance has conducted many interventions in the provision of health services, by expanding basic health care facilities in the states, in addition to expanding community health cadres and completing Lack of services on treatment days.

He pointed out that the most prominent challenges facing the plan were the collection of contributions from the Ministry of Finance and Zakat Chamber , and the identification of medical services according to the actual cost in the states, in addition to the provision of medicines and medical consumables.

The Minister of Social Development affirmed his support for the Fund’s programs and projects, praising the efforts made by health insurance workers to provide health services in the states, and said that health insurance was able to achieve many important interventions despite the circumstances that the country is going through during the past year, and stressed the need to improve the conditions of workers.

The Director General of Health Insurance, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Al-Mahi, stressed that health insurance has achieved remarkable successes in light of the challenges and scarce resources, noting that it has provided service to more than (21) million citizens in all states of Sudan.

Al-Mahi praised the experience of the first generation of health insurance, and said that they have laid the right foundations for work, appreciating in this regard the support of health insurance partners.
