Arab Parliament Welcomes Sudan’s Political Framework Agreement

QNA – The Arab Parliament welcomed Monday the Political Framework Agreement regarding the transitional period in Sudan.

In a statement, the Arab Parliament considered the agreement a significant and central step toward establishing governance-related principles in Sudan and achieving security and stability in the country.

The Arab Parliament stressed its full support of the Political Framework Agreement to enhance Sudan’s role in achieving peace and security in the region and Africa, restoring its significant role in the joint Arab and African action system.

Earlier Monday, the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, witnessed the signing of the Political Framework Agreement between the military component and a number of political powers, establishing a new transitional period that lasts two years and ends with elections.

The agreement was concluded between the military component, the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), and a number of parties, organizations, professional associations, and other movements, in the midst of regional and international presence, in addition to the UN tripartite mechanism, African Union, and IGAD organization.
