DDR Commissioner-General Visits Cairo

Cairo – The Commissioner-General of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Commission in Sudan Maj. Gen. retired Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Hamid has recently visited the Cairo-based International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peace Building.
The commissioner‘s visit aimed at discussing prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
The Director General of the Center, Ambassador Ahmed Nhad Abdel-Latif, welcomed the visit of the Sudanese delegation and praised the historical relations between the two countries, and the Egyptian vision which is keen to enhance cooperation and push it forward.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner expressed happiness for visiting the center and his keenness to benefit from its experience.
He also affirmed his appreciation to Egypt’s continuous contributions to enhance efforts in order to achieve peace and stability, regionally and internationally.
The Director of the Cairo Center pointed out to the training courses which are organized by the Center with the aim of capacity building of Arab and African countries in the field of DDR, expressing his welcome to increase the number of commission’s officials participating in such courses in the future to build on previous cooperation in light of the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Center and the DDR Commission.
