Editorial: Abyei Bombing: Malicious Plots

The drone attack on the Abyei administration, which targeted the market on Saturday, October 19, 2026, is a malicious plot aimed at creating a rift in the relationship between Sudan and South Sudan, disrupting Sudan’s relations with the international community, and fueling campaigns hostile to the country and calling for an arms embargo on our army.
Abyei region is not an operational theater to be targeted by a drone, nor does it pose a military threat. Rather, it is an area of integration, harmony, and coexistence. Furthermore, the armed forces have never targeted civilian areas or markets, and such an act is not part of their military doctrine.
This attack resembles the actions of the terrorist RSF militia, which has been and continues to launch drones against civilians and their property.
We have witnessed and experienced the shelling of markets for two years in Omdurman, El Obeid, Dilling, Kadugli, and other areas.
In recent days, the rebel militia and its supporters have been subjected to military pressure and the failure of their political projects.
This incident is intended to manipulate public opinion.
The media campaign that coincided with this incident reveals it to be a premeditated and coordinated act, indifferent to the bloodshed of innocents in pursuit of its agenda.
This is precisely what this bloodthirsty militia, along with its supporters and sponsors, are doing.

May God protect the country and its people.
