British MP Iain Smith calls for condemnation of the UAE over allegations of supporting the RSF militia

Conservative MP Iain Duncan Smith accused the United Arab Emirates of supporting the Rapid Support Forces militia, which he said is responsible for horrific atrocities and heavy casualties in Sudan. He called on the British government to condemn what he described as Abu Dhabi’s unequivocal involvement.

During a session in the House of Commons, Smith linked these accusations to the nomination of Emirati diplomat Lana Nusseibeh for the position of UN Secretary-General. He urged London to oppose the nomination, emphasizing the need for the international organization to uphold justice, human rights, and international law, and to hold the UAE accountable.
