Minnawi Warns of Humanitarian Catastrophe as Autumn Season Begins

Commander Minni Arko Minnawi, leader in the Democratic Bloc and Governor of Darfur, stated that he discussed the political and humanitarian developments in Sudan and ways to end the war with the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, Pekka Haavisto, in Addis Ababa.
Minnawi explained that the current humanitarian crisis is a direct result of the Rapid Support Forces’ violations against civilians, emphasizing the need for the international community to take a firm stance by designating the Rapid Support Forces a terrorist organization and bringing its leaders to justice.
He added that the meeting addressed the deteriorating humanitarian situation with the onset of the autumn season and the suffering of millions of displaced persons and refugees due to the obstruction of aid delivery, warning of a humanitarian catastrophe that requires urgent international action.
