Interior Minister Briefs Prime Minister on Country’s Security Situation

Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris was briefed on the work of the Ministry of Interior and all its departments during the first half of this year during his meeting today (Wednesday) in Khartoum with the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Babiker Samra.

In a press statement, the Minister explained that he presented the Prime Minister with a report on the Ministry of Interior’s performance from January to June of this year, including achievements in the various police departments, as well as the crime situation and the overall security situation.

The Interior Minister indicated that the Prime Minister was briefed on the Ministry’s efforts in combating smuggling and drugs. He added that the meeting also addressed the efforts of the Customs Authority and its achievements, in addition to the administrative aspects of the police forces in the capital, Khartoum, and the performance of other departments and administrations such as prisons, wildlife, and civil defense. He noted that the Prime Minister promised to provide the necessary resources for civil defense.

Lieutenant General Babiker Samra confirmed that the security situation in the country is reassuring, that police plans are being implemented in an excellent manner, and that there is close coordination between the police headquarters and the state security committees.
