Higher Education Minister: University of Gezira Sets a National Example in Recovery and Community Service

Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Madawi Musa, praised the University of Gezira for its leading role in supporting recovery, reconstruction, and community service, describing it as one of the first universities to resume operations after the liberation of Gezira State.

The minister noted that the university has achieved more than 80% recovery and serves around 40,000 students. He highlighted its ongoing “University Renaissance – Vision 2025” initiative, which focuses on infrastructure development, strengthening governance, establishing new colleges and centers, expanding partnerships, and preparing to host a Sustainable Development Conference next year.
