Health Insurance Partnership Strengthened to Expand Healthcare Coverage in White Nile State

Khartoum – White Nile State Governor, Lt. Gen. Qamar Al-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening partnership and coordination with the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to enhance healthcare services and expand health insurance coverage across the state.

The remarks came during his official visit to the headquarters of the National Health Insurance Fund, where he was received by the Fund’s Director General, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim. The two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation and ways to improve healthcare services provided to citizens.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdulazim Abdulrahman, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee at the Fund’s headquarters, presented the committee’s findings, noting that it reviewed the performance of the Fund’s White Nile State branch in delivering healthcare services across the state’s localities. The committee also examined key operational challenges and discussed measures to ensure service continuity and improve quality.

The Governor stressed that health insurance is a cornerstone of healthcare sector development, affirming the state government’s commitment to supporting healthcare programs and expanding access to insurance services in recognition of the Fund’s vital role in providing healthcare to citizens.

He further announced that the state government will work to increase the distribution of health insurance cards through effective partnerships with institutions and various stakeholders, while leveraging corporate social responsibility initiatives to broaden insurance coverage and ensure healthcare services reach a greater number of citizens.

For his part, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim, Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to continued cooperation with state governments and strengthening strategic partnerships aimed at improving healthcare services and advancing universal health coverage, ensuring equitable and efficient access to healthcare for all citizens.
