Geological Research Authority Continues Capacity Building with Launch of (RS-GIS) Training Course in Gedaref

The Gedaref branch office of the General Authority for Geological Research launched today (Sunday) the activities of a specialized training course on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (RS-GIS), with the participation of representatives from a number of relevant governmental and academic institutions.
The course brought together professionals from the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, the Quarry Administration, Gedaref University, the Higher Council for Environment, Gedaref State Water Corporation, and the Investment Commission, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise among institutions working in the fields of natural resources and sustainable development.
The training aims to enhance participants’ technical capacities and develop their skills in applying remote sensing and geographic information systems in geological exploration, natural resource management, spatial mapping, and supporting planning and decision-making processes based on modern scientific approaches.
The course is part of the General Authority for Geological Research’s programs aimed at building national capacities, transferring modern technologies, and expanding the use of geospatial applications to support sustainable development efforts and improve the efficiency of resource management in Gedaref State.
