FIFA Pledges Support for Sudanese Football

FIFA President Gianni Infantino pledged support for the Sudanese Football Association and promised to provide the necessary resources for the next phase to ensure the stability of football activity in Sudan. This pledge came during his meeting with Sudanese Football Association President Mutasim Jaafar on the sidelines of the World Cup final in the United States.

Infantino praised the Sudanese Football Association’s efforts in resuming football activity in Khartoum after a three-year hiatus, and the successful launch of the Premier League, which he described as an important step in restoring sporting activity despite the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.

For his part, Mutasim Jaafar confirmed that the meeting was fruitful and constructive, and included discussions on developing Sudanese football, particularly regarding infrastructure, technical programs, and support for local federations, according to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

Jaafar pointed out that the next stage requires strengthening international partnerships and taking advantage of FIFA’s support to ensure the continuation of competitions and the development of national teams.
