Federal Minister of Health Discusses Health Situation and Upcoming Facility Openings with White Nile State Governor
The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met today in his office with a delegation from White Nile State led by the Governor, Lt. Gen. Qamar Al-Din Fadl Al-Mawla.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Ali Babiker, senior ministry officials, and the Director General of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Al-Zein Saad. Discussions focused on the current health situation in the state and the health facilities scheduled to be inaugurated next August.
The Minister affirmed that White Nile State has witnessed significant progress across the health sector in recent months. He announced plans to visit the state soon to inaugurate several health facilities, including the late Omar Nour Al-Daem Hospital in Naeima.
He also directed officials to identify the most urgent needs of other health facilities, including the Children’s Hospital, to facilitate the provision of the required support.
For his part, the Governor praised the continuous support provided by the Federal Ministry of Health to White Nile State, whether directly or through partner organizations.
He noted that this support has had a tangible impact on the health sector by improving the quality of services in hospitals and primary health centers, earning positive feedback from citizens. He also highlighted the growing competition among localities and their residents, both inside and outside the state, to contribute to supporting health institutions.
The Governor further announced that the state is preparing to inaugurate a number of health projects, as well as higher education and general education projects.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Al-Zein Saad, stressed the need to expedite the completion of the remaining departments of the late Omar Nour Al-Daem Hospital in Naeima.
He also pointed out that Al-Qutaina Hospital is in urgent need of neonatal incubators. In addition, he revealed plans for a future medical city south of Rabak, while noting that the Children’s Hospital requires additional medical equipment and devices.
