Cholera Cases Rise in West Kordofan and West Bara as Dengue and Measles Decline

Sudan’s Federal Ministry of Health has reported an increase in cholera cases in West Kordofan and West Bara in North Kordofan State, while response efforts continue through the provision of medical supplies and support for isolation centers.
At the same time, the ministry recorded a decline in cases of dengue fever, meningitis, and measles, with no deaths reported in most outbreaks.
The ministry also announced strengthened preparedness of reference laboratories to diagnose cholera and respond to possible Ebola cases and the rainy season emergencies. Health authorities are intensifying public awareness campaigns, coordinating with partners, monitoring travelers arriving from Uganda, and training health workers in several states.
