“Millions of Sudanese civilians are returning to areas restored to state control, while displacement and insecurity continue in areas affected by the militia’s violence.” It is bizarre to me that Sudanese civilians clearly dont treat the warring parties as equivalent and yet the Western response does, while at the same time they claim to be listening to and on the side of Sudanese civilians. What they mean is that they are on the side of Sudanese civilians who can join them at conferences in London and Nairobi. Not the actual Sudanese civilians grinding out their survival in a country trying to rebuild.”
