Benishangul Defense Forces Hunt Down Remnants of Militias Fleeing Kurmuk and Surkum

According to reliable sources, fierce clashes erupted between the Benishangul Defense Forces, an Ethiopian opposition faction in the Benishangul region, and elements of the RSF militia in the Balfadamu area near the border.

According to the sources, the clashes resulted in the deaths of a large number of militia members, while the remainder fled towards the eastern mountains after suffering heavy losses in personnel and equipment.

The sources added that the Benishangul Defense Forces seized control of the site of the clashes and captured sophisticated weapons, in addition to two armored vehicles belonging to the militia, in a new blow targeting the remnants of the fleeing elements from the battles of Kurmuk and Surkum.
