Ahmed Qasim Hospital Celebrates Successful 14 Kidney Transplants

Ahmed Qasim Hospital for Heart and Kidney Transplantation celebrated on Saturday the successful completion of 14 kidney transplants, a medical achievement following the hospital’s reopening after the damage and destruction it sustained in the past.

The hospital’s Director General, Dr. Huda Hamid, stated that this success is the fruit of the tremendous efforts exerted by all hospital staff, adding: “Our hearts are filled with praise and gratitude to God Almighty for this achievement. We lived through days filled with anxiety, and today we are experiencing the utmost joy and happiness after the success of the transplants, which were carried out with utmost dedication and devotion by our medical staff.”

She affirmed that the success of these operations sends a clear message confirming that Ahmed Qasim Hospital will remain a beacon of medicine and healing. She expressed her gratitude to the Federal Minister of Health, the Governor of Khartoum State and his government, the Acting Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health, and all ministry staff, as well as the hospital staff, for their patience and efforts in resuming medical services.

She also extended special thanks to the doctors, specialists, and donors, particularly Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Wahab, a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology, praising their role in the success of the kidney transplant program under these exceptional circumstances.

The hospital administration honored the specialists who performed the transplants, and the attendees stood in appreciation and recognition of the donors, Dr. Huda, Dr. Abdul Rahman, and all the medical staff who contributed to this achievement.
