They Acclaim the AI !

Still the cyclones of “Artificial Intelligence” are circling around us and hovering over our heads. Miraculous incidents and events are told about the entrance of the Al in our direct life. In all businesses and aspects of life in general ; commerce, industry, manufacturing… etc.
In the world of technology, no doubt, AI is itself part of technology; each operation of it, is moved by technology. Simply, the hardware that moves it are purely technical and technological pieces; computers, tabs, smartphones, all these are technical tools. This is to name a few.
In the educational field, the educative bodies turn to rely solely on this spoonfeeding dietary.They turn to subject every educational activity to their “AI”. Particularly, at the tertiary level, they started to collect their lectures notes from this fashion. References are now started to become even easier than before.Talking about the examinations ; wow ! Even “Banks of Questions” are smoothly set. Abundance of questions are founded. They set all “types” of questions; Tags, lnformation, Yes/No, Gap-filling, True/False, Matching, Or-quedtions. In short, all types of questions can be easily set via AI.
One of the most famous Tertairy level institutions – Open University of the Sudan – acclaimed and praised their last examinations activities in which they practiced the AI in that. They announced their sticking to it and in their all other activities.
“I Kowaco ; I can see in the dark”. Well ! Asking; “Is AI guaranteed in composing an ideal exam? Are they to be compared with the pencil-and- paper exams that are set manually. Of course, the manual test or exam is set to satisfy and meet the characteristics of a good test, such as discrimination and reliability.
Hey ! Did you see that?! That the examinations set via the Al are found to be testing many things at a time. The rubrics might include very tough and hard types of vocabulary that makes it difficult to understand the question itself. So, it looks like it’s testing two things at a time ; the vocabulary item as well as the examined point ; whether, it’s grammatical or structural or about a certain piece of information.
Students (Ss), on their part, might kindly entreat this “Al” of their lecturers to set them exam questions that may turn to be typically the questions of the same exam. Thus, it will be a “mock exam” to those Ss.
Anyway, setting educative activities or even relying solely on the AI, should require cautious precautions. Educative bodies should study and test its “Pros” against its “Cons”. Then, they have to try the ideal usage of this “thing”; lest not to feel, one day, so sorry.
