Sudan’s Ambassador to Beijing Discusses Efforts to Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Senior Chinese Official
The Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the People’s Republic of China, Omar Issa Ahmed, met today (Thursday) with Mr. Jin Chen, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, at the department’s headquarters in Beijing, to discuss strengthening efforts to enhance and develop the strategic partnership between Sudan and China.
During the meeting, both sides affirmed the depth and strength of Sudanese-Chinese relations and the importance of continuing joint work to elevate them to broader horizons, serving the common interests of the two friendly peoples and strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Sudanese Radio correspondent in Beijing, Osama Mukhtar, reported that Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed reiterated Sudan’s full support for China on its core issues, foremost among them the One China principle, and expressed Sudan’s appreciation for China’s supportive stances in regional and international forums.
The Ambassador also reviewed the positive developments taking place in the country and the efforts being made to achieve security and stability and restore the normal functioning of state institutions. He noted the government’s return to Khartoum and the continued return of citizens to their regions and cities, reflecting the improved situation in several parts of the country.
The Ambassador affirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with China in the coming phase, particularly in the areas of investment and reconstruction. He emphasized the importance of Chinese companies and institutions playing an active role in rebuilding what the war destroyed and benefiting from the successful experiences of cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Mr. Jin Chen affirmed China’s continued support for Sudan under all circumstances, at both the bilateral and international levels, expressing his country’s appreciation for Sudan’s steadfast positions towards China.
He also affirmed China’s readiness to work with Sudan to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries and to enhance practical cooperation in various fields, contributing to the revitalization of economic, trade, and development relations between the two sides.
The Deputy Minister indicated China’s keenness to actively participate in Sudan’s reconstruction efforts and support its path towards achieving peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and a number of issues of common interest, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultation to contribute to strengthening stability and development and serving the common interests of both countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their aspiration to further enhance and develop the Sudanese-Chinese strategic partnership in a way that meets the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and supports the fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
