National Health Insurance Fund Reviews Performance of State Branches and Stresses Expansion of Health Coverage

The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Dr. Farouq Nour Al-Daim, commended the significant role played by the Fund’s state branches in implementing programs and plans aimed at achieving the objectives of health insurance.

He emphasized that the current phase requires intensified efforts and stronger teamwork to achieve the desired goals, promote the principles of social justice, and expand health insurance coverage for citizens.

The progress of the overall performance plan of the NHIF branches in the Northern, River Nile, and Al-Qadarif states was reviewed during a virtual meeting attended by Dr. Farouq Nour Al-Daim Omar, Director General of the Fund, along with directors of general departments and units at the Fund’s headquarters, as well as members of the executive offices of the three state branches.

The meeting discussed the implementation level of performance plans, achievement indicators, and challenges facing the branches. The discussions were held within the framework of strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.

Dr. Nour Al-Daim underscored the importance of continuous monitoring of performance indicators and the development of services to better meet beneficiaries’ needs and support the state’s vision of providing comprehensive and equitable healthcare for all citizens.
