Minister of Higher Education: Completion of Rehabilitation Works on Seven Student Housing Complexes in Khartoum
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, affirmed that the efforts undertaken by the National Fund for Student Welfare to rehabilitate student housing complexes represent significant support for the stability of the educational process in Khartoum State.
He noted that these efforts contribute to creating suitable conditions for the organized and sustainable resumption of academic activities, especially as universities continue to return and resume operations at an accelerating pace.
This came during a meeting at his office with Dr. Ahmed Hamza, Secretary-General of the National Fund for Student Welfare, where he received a briefing on the progress of reconstruction and rehabilitation projects being implemented by the Fund in several student housing complexes across the capital.
The Secretary-General explained that rehabilitation works have been fully completed in seven student housing complexes in Khartoum State, making them ready for inauguration and to receive students in the coming period.
These facilities include Al-Shaheed Al-Fateh Hamza Dormitories in Omdurman, Khadija Dormitory, Abdulsalam Suleiman Dormitory, and Al-Shaheed Atif Al-Tijani Student City in Bahri. The projects are part of the Fund’s plan to restore student services and provide a suitable residential environment for students.
The Minister commended the considerable efforts of the National Fund for Student Welfare in implementing rehabilitation and reconstruction projects, praising its role in providing student accommodation and related services. He emphasized that these efforts directly support the stability of higher education institutions and facilitate the return of universities to their campuses in Khartoum State.
Both sides underscored the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to complete rehabilitation and reconstruction projects and further develop student services.
