Health Minister Orders Rapid Preparation of Isolation Center for Ebola Response

Khartoum /
Sudan’s Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, has directed the swift preparation of a fully equipped isolation center and strengthened monitoring of incoming travelers as part of the country’s preparedness for a potential Ebola outbreak.

During the weekly meeting of the Federal Emergency Operations Center, health reports confirmed no dengue fever cases in Gedaref, Kassala, and White Nile states, with a significant decline in River Nile State.

The report also recorded 911 cumulative cholera cases, including 127 deaths, in North and West Kordofan since the outbreak began. Efforts to enhance disease surveillance, laboratory capacity, emergency response, and seasonal preparedness are continuing across the country.
