Burhan Makes New Statements
Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, praised the steadfast and historic stance of the people of Al-Aylafoun in the East Nile locality and their courage in supporting the Sudanese Armed Forces in the national “Battle of Dignity” against the rebel militia.
Addressing worshippers at the mosque of Sheikh Khalifa Ali Barakat (successor to Sheikh Idris Wad al-Arbab) after performing Friday prayers in the area, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan affirmed that the imposed war that erupted in the country is instigated by external entities and circles targeting the very existence of the state. He commended the strategic role of the people of Al-Aylafoun in facilitating the delivery of military supplies to the Armed Forces in Khartoum in previous periods, as well as their active contribution to the resilience of the Engineers Corps station located in the area until the victory of liberating Khartoum.
Al-Burhan praised the significant national and religious role of Sufi orders in spreading the tolerant teachings of Islam and the values of solidarity and unity within society, far removed from extremism and fanaticism. He called for adherence to the path of the righteous predecessors, who advocated for truth and unity. He reiterated that the Sudanese people’s resolve and free will are capable of defeating all the enemies’ schemes, urging the Sudanese people to persevere and remain steadfast until the country reaches safety. He noted that the calamities and setbacks the country has faced since April 2023 pale in comparison to the current crises. He added emphatically, “We will complete the liberation of Sudan and proceed towards eliminating the rebels and all enemies of this proud nation.”
This field visit by Head of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief, accompanied by Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Sabir, Head of Military Intelligence, during which he offered his condolences on the death of Khalifa Ali Khalifa Barakat, confirms the organic cohesion between the leadership and the people, and the Sudanese Armed Forces’ complete control and securing of the vital areas east of the Nile, within the framework of its comprehensive strategic plan to purge all pockets of rebellion and extend security and stability throughout the country.
