Al-Burhan: Victory is coming at the hands of the Armed Forces and the Sudanese people

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, affirmed that the country is proceeding on the same path it charted on April 15th, the path of truth and dignity.

He pointed to the people’s support for the Armed Forces in their existential battle, adding, “Our faith in God is great that we will be victorious because we are on the side of truth.”

Addressing worshippers today after Friday prayers at the Sheikh Abu Qurun Mosque in the East Nile locality, Al-Burhan said, “We know that citizens are experiencing hardship, and this hardship will end with the elimination of the rebellion.” He added, “We have no middle ground or gray areas; the solution is to eliminate the rebel militia and eradicate it from all parts of Sudan.”

Al-Burhan stated that anyone claiming neutrality on this issue has failed to uphold justice, pointing to the atrocities committed by the rebel militia in El Obeid, including killings, starvation, and the targeting of infrastructure serving citizens, such as power stations, fuel depots, and water facilities.

He added, “This is not a war against the government, but a war against the Sudanese people. Therefore, everyone must move forward to eliminate this militia and end its rebellion against the state.”

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council said, “Our response to those who claim the war will not end with a military victory is that victory is coming and will be achieved by the armed forces.” He added, “If the war does not end with a victory for the army and the people, the militia will return to the scene and once again inflict suffering on the Sudanese people.”

He clarified that any negotiations that do not aim to dismantle the militia and disarm it will not be considered, emphasizing the necessity of holding accountable all those who have committed crimes against the Sudanese people.

His Excellency praised the Sudanese people’s unwavering support for the Armed Forces in the Battle of Dignity, stating that the strength of the Armed Forces stems from the strength and will of the Sudanese people, and that all armies in the world hold a sacred and symbolic place in the hearts of their people. He condemned the statements of some Sudanese politicians calling for the dismantling of the Armed Forces under the guise of reform.

He added, “We tell these people that this is not your concern. We will proceed alongside the people and achieve the victory they seek, despite the naysayers and doubters.”

Burhan stated that the strategy of gradual progress is ongoing and will achieve its objectives. He pointed to the Armed Forces’ expulsion of the rebels from Gezira, White Nile, and Khartoum, affirming that they will also be driven out of Darfur and Kordofan in defeat.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces saluted the martyrs of Sudan and the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity who sacrificed their lives for the honor and dignity of the Sudanese people. He commended the great roles of the Sufi orders in spreading the tolerant values ​​of Islam.

He explained that most Sudanese people belong to these good and pure Sufi orders because they always call for truth and virtue, and they are not extremists, nor are the Sudanese people. He added, “The Sudanese are not people of discord, but rather people of harmony, compassion, and solidarity.”
