Reconstruction Partnership: NSWF Signs MoU with Wells Contracting
A Memorandum of
Understanding was signed at the headquarters of the National Students Welfare Fund (NSWF) between the Fund and Wells Investment and Contracting Company, in the presence of the Fund’s Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Amin.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Fund by the Director General of Planning and Projects, Dr. Hamdan Abdullah Tirab, and on behalf of the company by a representative of its Board of Directors.
The memorandum stipulates strengthening cooperation between the two parties in the areas of war-damaged reconstruction, utilizing the company’s expertise in administrative and technical development, and submitting proposals that contribute to developing the Fund’s technical and engineering work.
Under the memorandum, Wells Company committed to providing financing of up to 15 billion Sudanese pounds, from its own resources and through the banking system, to be directed towards maintenance and rehabilitation work on student dormitories, ensuring its completion as quickly as possible and to a higher standard.
In a statement following the signing, Dr. Hamdan Abdullah Tirab stated that this memorandum represents a practical step towards the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Fund’s facilities. He noted that the partnership with Wells Company will contribute to accelerating the pace of work and achieving a qualitative leap in technical and engineering aspects. He added that the allocated funding will be directly used for the maintenance and rehabilitation of dormitories, thus ensuring stability for students and providing a suitable living environment.
He emphasized that the next phase will witness close coordination between the two parties to ensure the efficient implementation of the memorandum’s provisions. He pointed out that this partnership paves the way for further cooperation that supports the Fund’s efforts in the post-war phase.
This partnership is expected to provide a strong boost to the Fund’s rehabilitation and development efforts in the coming period.
