PM Discusses Cultivating 1.2 Million Feddans

Prime Minister Kamil Idris stated that the cabinet meeting discussed rural development priorities, along with efforts to combat corruption, smuggling, and drugs. He noted that these escalating threats necessitate enhanced awareness and international cooperation to confront them.

In a tweet on the “X” platform, Idris explained that the meeting also addressed the Gezira Scheme’s plan to cultivate 1.2 million feddans during the summer season, considering it a strategic step to support food security and the national economy.

The meeting also discussed electricity supply challenges, emphasizing the commitment to accelerating grid expansion, street lighting, and investment in renewable energy to meet increasing demand and ensure the stability of essential services.
