Nilein University Director Receives Community and Academic Leaders to Support Education and Community Support

Professor Al-Hadi Ibrahim Mohamed, Director of Nilein University, received Sultan Siddiq Wadah, former President of the Supreme Council of Native Administration, and Professor Abdulrahman Karam El-Din, Dean of the Western College of Science and Technology, at the university’s administration building in Khartoum. The meeting aimed to support the educational process and enhance the university’s community role.

The university director welcomed the visit, emphasizing that the meeting marked the beginning of extensive cooperation in various fields. He highlighted the importance of addressing the needs of displaced students and directed the Western College to commence its activities and expand its campuses. He also directed that practical training opportunities be made available for medical students at the university’s hospitals.

Professor Al-Hadi Ibrahim Mohammed emphasized the importance of caring for the children of Darfur and Kordofan who have been deprived of education due to the war, describing them as a sacred trust. He noted that the university had dispatched a convoy to the Azhari Mubarak Al-Afad shelter in Al-Dabba locality, Northern State, to support the educational process for children affected by the war.

For his part, Sultan Siddiq Wad’ah stressed the importance of supporting education, stimulating production, and backing the armed forces, considering these pillars to be the country’s path toward stability and security.

Professor Abdulrahman Karam Al-Din explained that Nilein University has a vital national role in conveying messages of return and stability to the community. He indicated that holding the examinations at the Center for Economic and Social Studies marks the beginning of a new phase, and he commended the university administration’s efforts in supporting the West College and displaced students affected by the war.

In a related context, the university director received Chieftain Ali Mohammed Tahir, Chieftain of Borno in Sennar State, accompanied by General Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, Mayor of Jalqani, and Mayor Saleh Abkar, the Sultan’s representative for nomadic affairs.

Chieftain Ali Mohamed Tahir emphasized that the contributions of Nilein University were extensive, explaining that they had come seeking support. He noted that the university had provided five scholarships and contributed significantly to what he termed the “war of dignity.”

For his part, General Mohamed Mohamed Saleh stressed the importance of education in overcoming tribalism and propelling Sudan toward progress. Meanwhile, Mayor Saleh Abkar explained that the community support provided by Nilein University was a pressing necessity, particularly in areas that had not previously embraced formal education but were later integrated into the system.
