Minister of Justice: Vehicles Collected in Khartoum Are Not “Abandoned”

The Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Collection, Inventory, and Management of Scrap Iron, Dr. Abdullah Dirif, denied on Saturday the rumors circulating about classifying the vehicles collected in Khartoum State as “abandoned.” He emphasized that this legal definition does not apply to this situation, and that the state’s primary responsibility is to help citizens identify their property.

In a press statement, the Minister explained that the relevant committee has already begun compiling data on these vehicles in their current condition, in preparation for publishing it on a specific electronic platform and through various media outlets. This will enable owners to identify their vehicles and then follow the legal procedures to reclaim them.

Dirif indicated that this matter will be handled in accordance with the law, stressing that the publication process will begin as soon as the current inventory work is completed.
