Director of the National Medical Supplies Fund Meets Blue Nile Region Health Minister

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination between federal and regional levels, the Director General of the National Medical Supplies Fund, Dr. Badr El-Din Mohamed Ahmed Al-Jazouli, met with the Minister of Health of the Blue Nile Region, Dr. Gamal Nasser Al-Sayed, to discuss ways to support the region’s healthcare system and improve the responsiveness of medical supplies amid current exceptional circumstances.

The meeting addressed several strategic priorities, foremost among them enhancing the flow of medicines and medical consumables, and tackling operational and logistical challenges affecting healthcare service delivery—particularly in light of the complex humanitarian and economic conditions facing the region. Both sides also discussed practical mechanisms for setting health priorities and ensuring that the actual needs of healthcare facilities are met, thereby improving the efficiency and equity of resource distribution.

Dr. Al-Jazouli reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to fulfilling its national role in providing urgent medical needs and addressing critical gaps through flexible supply plans that respond to on-the-ground realities. These efforts aim to achieve relative stability in medical supplies and ensure the continuity of healthcare services for citizens.

He also expressed his appreciation for the leadership role played by the Regional Health Minister, commending his efforts in managing the health sector during this critical period.

This meeting comes within the context of field visits conducted by the Minister to federal institutions in support of the region’s health sector. Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous coordination between the Fund and the Ministry to further develop the regional healthcare system and enhance its efficiency and responsiveness to growing needs.
