Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan to Strengthen Medical Services in West Kordofan and Support IDPs
Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund,Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daem , announced the development of an integrated plan to provide healthcare services to citizens in West Kordofan State. He noted that the Fund is working in coordination with partners to implement medical outreach days in displacement camps, aiming to deliver healthcare and treatment services to displaced persons and alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
Nour Al-Daem emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and joint cooperation between the Fund and the Ministry of Health and Social Development in West Kordofan to support and improve healthcare services in the state.
Dr. Farouk met with Dr. Anas Al-Sadiq Al-Siddiq, Acting Minister and Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in West Kordofan, at the Fund’s headquarters in Khartoum. The meeting was attended by Dr. Al-Siddiq Al-Tayeb Wahb Allah, Director General of Health Services; Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Qasim, Director General of Financial and Administrative Affairs; Dr. Abdulazim Abdulrahman, Director General of Population Coverage; Dr. Al-Farabi Ibrahim, Director of the Additional Medical Services Package Program; Executive Office Director Alaa Al-Din Suleiman; and Mohammed Abu Al-Qasim, Director General of Human and Financial Resources.
Nour Al-Daem highlighted the Fund’s commitment to expanding health insurance coverage and improving the quality of medical services provided to citizens, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in West Kordofan in supporting and stabilizing the health sector.
The meeting discussed several issues related to expanding health insurance coverage and enhancing the quality of medical services, in addition to addressing the challenges facing the health sector in West Kordofan and exploring ways to overcome them through partnerships and institutional coordination.
For his part, Dr. Anas Al-Sadiq underscored the vital role played by the National Health Insurance Fund in supporting the stability of healthcare services and reducing the financial burden of treatment on citizens. He commended the Fund’s significant contributions and its continued support for the people of West Kordofan, particularly in displacement camps in North Kordofan, through the provision of healthcare and treatment services to those affected—efforts that have helped ease the suffering of citizens amid the exceptional circumstances facing the country.
