The_Other_Dimension: Hospitals as Graveyards… The Silent Execution of Sudan’s Patients..!

Three years have passed since the outbreak of the cursed war, leaving Sudan’s health system to pay the heaviest price. Hospitals that once healed wounds have turned into rubble, standing as witnesses to the scale of the daily tragedy. It is no longer just a passing crisis or a shortage of beds; rather, it is a total collapse that has cost the country an estimated $11 billion in losses, with over 75% of hospitals going completely out of service or operating at near-zero capacity. These horrifying figures mean, simply and realistically, that millions of Sudanese in cities and rural areas have been left without a safe haven to ease their pain or save their lives in times of distress.
The machinery of destruction did not stop at bombing buildings and shattering ward walls; it extended to systematic looting and sabotage that stripped health facilities of their advanced medical equipment, blood bank supplies, and life-saving medicines. Even ambulances, which represent the last lifeline for the injured and pregnant women, were not spared from this brutal targeting. They were either looted to be used for military purposes entirely unrelated to medicine, or completely destroyed to block any attempt at rapid rescue. This calculated devastation has left entire states facing the specter of death and the outbreak of epidemics, such as cholera and dengue fever, barehanded, leaving the ordinary citizen to battle illness alone.
Amidst this desolate rubble, doctors, health officers, health workers, and nurses have paid the ultimate price with their lives and peace of mind. The “Angels of Mercy” found themselves in the heart of the blazing crossfire, where hundreds were subjected to direct killing, arrest, kidnapping, enforced disappearance, and some were even forced to work at gunpoint. These horrific violations, coupled with the continuous bombing of numerous hospitals and health facilities throughout the war, have forced thousands of medical staff and specialists into migration and displacement in search of a safe haven. This brain drain and flight of skilled hands have left a tiny fraction of heroes fighting alone, with almost zero resources, in a harsh daily battle against death.
A Final Dimension:
To sum up, the collapse of the Sudanese health sector over these three years is not merely a side effect of the war that can be quickly overcome; it is a profound humanitarian catastrophe that will cast its gloomy shadow over generations to come. Every hospital destroyed, every machine looted, and every doctor displaced or killed simply equates to a silent death sentence for hundreds of patients who are ravaged by illnesses far from the roar of cannons and the coverage of cameras.
Finally, today, as we stand before the ruins of our medical institutions after all this continuous pain, an urgent need emerges—not only to silence the guns, but to launch an urgent appeal and a serious campaign to rebuild what the hands of conflict have ruined. Without protecting the remainder of our steadfast medical cadres and providing an actual lifeline to our hospitals, the bleeding of the Sudanese people will continue for a very long time, even if the battles on the ground cease.
